Great App for Making Sure Your New Home is Being Built Right

If you are building a new home or are thinking of building one in the near future you really need to understand building science. So many contractors today will just throw your home together as fast as possible. There are good contractors out there who have done their research and really know how to build a sustainable, energy efficient home. Most people don’t understand what is right and wrong in building a new home. If you know and understand building science you can make sure your home is being built right.

    Some 20 years ago we began doing research on ways to save on our heating and cooling costs, which were outrageous, even then. Friends had given us boxes of Mother Earth News Magazines to recycle through our minds, and as we did we found Hay Baled buildings. Seemed like the thing to do, except for the high moisture content where we lived. We did find an article on

      • I have always been kind of skeptical of straw bale homes as well but I need to look into it more. I have a friend who has a monolithic dome house. I will as them how it is.
